James Douglas "Doug" Carr, 58, the son of the late Theodore James "Ted" & Frances Doris Jarrell Carr, was born 17 December 1953 at the Sam Davis Clinic in Dexter, Stoddard County, Missouri and passed away suddenly April 8, 2012, Easter Sunday, "The Day Christ Arose," at his home in Watervliet, Michigan.

Doug had worked at Chet Nichols in Benton Harbor for many years. Doug graduated from the Watervliet High School in Watervliet, Michigan in 1972. Doug played drums in 1978-1979 in the band "Cross Fire" with band members, Neil Story, John Coburn & Michael Ricketts, his cousin and he still loved to play the drums for himself.

Doug's smile, the twinkle in his eyes and the swagger in his walk will be missed by his family and friends.

Doug is survived by his sister, Linda (David) Haase, of Watervliet, Michigan; Nieces & Nephews, Billy, T.J.(Tanya) Ricketts, Tonya Ricketts Kierstead all of Watervliet, Michigan & Melissa Wallace of Hartford, Michigan, Angela Haase of Dowagiac, April Ott of Benton Harbor & Sarah Haase of Sisters Lakes; his aunts, Thurma Robl of Maryland, Ruth Ann Jarrell Ricketts of Walhalla, Michigan; his uncle, Kenneth Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; his companion of 22 years, Corrine (VanLoon) Tober, and her son, Matthew(Angela)Andrews, whom he raised as his own; 4 grandchildren, Matt II, Morgan, Amber, Michael & Amanda; Aunts, Thurma Robl of Baltimore, Maryland & Ruth Ann Jarrell Ricketts of Walhalla, Michigan; one uncle, Kenneth Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; and many cousins, other relatives and friends who will lovingly remember him.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents in 1992 & 2005 respectfully, his sister, Jane Carr Wallace in 1997, a nephew, Scott Cross, a daughter he raised as his own, Shawna Tober in 2009.

Visitation will be on April 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the Funeral Services to follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor David Haase his brother-in-law officiating in the Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet, Michigan. With burial to follow beside his parents in the Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Watervliet, Berrien County, Michigan.
