Betty Jean Faulkner, 78, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Woodland Hills Nursing Center in Marble Hill. Born May 9, 1933, at Bloomfield, Mo., she was the daughter of James Henry and Edith Opal Harper Rogers.
Betty and George Willis Faulkner were married on April 5, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas. They were proud parents of three children: Rita (Rick) Becker, and Doug (Andrea) Faulkner, both of Marble Hill, and Diane (John) Scott of Jackson, Mo.
They moved to Marble Hill in 1972, and Betty worked at the International Hat Co. sewing visors. They were members of Hahn Chapel Church for many years, and later were members of Harmony Congregational Methodist Church. Betty was a devoted wife and mother, encouraging George at his welding shop. George died on Dec. 19, 2009.
Besides her children she is survived by seven grandchildren: James, Valerie, and Tony Becker, Jessica Boyd, Cody Scott, Garett Faulkner and Colton Faulkner, two great-grandchildren: Dalyce and Victoria Swanson; a brother, Henry Rogers, Jr. of Centralia, Ill., a sister, Louise Cox, of Bloomfield, Mo.; a half-brother, Larry Rogers of Dexter, Mo., and a half-sister, Bertha Johnson, of Bloomfield, Mo. Besides George she is preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Rogers, and two sisters, Freda Lily and Lucille Gross.
Visitation will be on Wed., June 8, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Lessley Ridge Cemetery West of Marble Hill.
