Elijah "Lige" Monroe JARRELL

Lige Jarrell

Lige Jarrell, the son of
the late Eli and Nancy
Shipman Jarrell, was
born near Dexter January
17, 1897 and died at the
Veterans Hospital in
Poplar Bluff, MO, May 14,
1976 at the age of 79 years,
3 months and 27 days.

Mr. Jarrell had lived north of
Dexter all his life and was a
retired farmer. He was a
Veteran of World War I.

July 26, 1924 he was married
to Bessie Hopkins at Bloomfield
and to this union seven children
were born. Two children pre-
ceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Bessie Jarrell of Rt. 3, Dexter,
two sons; Kenneth and Carl
Jarrell of Dexter, three daughters,
Frances Carr, Faye Strouts and
Ruth Ann Ricketts all of
Watervliet, Michigan, 19 grand-
children and 8 great-granchildren.

Other relatives and many friends
also survive.

Funeral services were held
Sunday, May 16, 1976 at
2 p.m. in the Watkins and
Sons Chapel in Dexter with
Rev. Roy King of Puxico
officiating. Interment was in the
Lick Creek Cemetery near
