Richard owned and operated the Watervliet Gulf Station and retired from Wesco of Watervliet, Michigan.
Corky also served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Richard married the former Madonna Ritter on April 24, 1964.
Survivors are his wife, Madonna Bouma of Watervliet, Michigan; three sons; Richard Bouma and James (Sue) Bouma, both of Watervliet, Michigan and Royln Mock of Fort Wayne, Indiana, four grandchildren: Erica (Scott) Nearpass of Coloma,Michigan, Beth (Frank) Lazzara of McMinnville, Tennessee, James(Crystal) Bouma, II of Buchanan, Michigan and Mike (Chandra) Holt of Coloma, Michigan; fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sister: Helen of Benton Harbor, Michigan; brother: Willis Bouma of Watervliet, Michigan and other family and friends.
Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Dowey and Helen Rooker Bouma.
As per Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration of life service will take place on October 5th at 11 A.M. at the Keeler General Baptist Church, Keeler, Michigan with Pastor Efrain Maya officiating.
Military rites will be performed by Willis Bouma.
The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with handling the arrangements
