Odeen Young, daughter of William Harrison Young Sr. and Effie May Butler Young was born in Payson, Utah. Odeen's mother, Effie May Butler Young had been living in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, but the revolution caused the family to leave. Effie left with her two oldest daughters and was expecting a third child (Odeen) when they left, as their safety was threatened by the continued fighting in Mexico. After a stay in a lumber yard in El Paso, Texas, Effie traveled to Utah, where she had relatives. It was there that Odeen was born 5 September 1912. In time, they returned to Mexico but continued unrest caused them to leave again, settling in the small Mormon community of Binghampton, near Tucson, Arizona. Odeen spent her childhood here and in time, two more sisters had joined the family but little sister Voris lived less than one month, passing away on Christmas day in 1922. Three brothers joined the family and Odeen enjoyed the companionship of her sisters and brothers in Binghampton. In October 1930, she married Herman Orville Cook and they had a daughter Voris. The marriage ended in divorce and she later met and married Marion Wilbert Wynne, Jr., son of Marion Wilbert Wynne Sr. and Ada Beatrice Anderson Wynne. Odeen and Marion were the parents of three children: Marion Wilbert Wynne III, Don Alan Wynne and Kirc Bradley Wynne. They were grievously saddened at the death of son Elder Kirc Bradley, who was killed in a car accident while serving a mission in Canada for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived most of their married life in Tucson, but in time moved to Thatcher, Arizona, living near son Don Alan and his wife and family. Odeen passed away in Thatcher on November 20, 1999 and is buried in the Binghampton Cemetery in Tucson, where her husband and son are also buried.
