A longtime resident of Wilson County, Texas, Jane Bolf died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the age of 86.

She was born on March 1, 1924, in Seguin, and was one of seven children born to Leo Joseph and Emma Loftus Boyle.

Jane graduated from Seguin High School and while working at Randolph Field in 1943, she met her future husband, Richard F. Bolf. They were married Aug. 6, 1944. After World War II, they settled onto the family farm between Poth and Floresville. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, the Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters Court Anna Poth for more than 50 years. She was also a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, a Retired Senior Volunteer Program member, a past member of the board of directors of the local branch of Hochheim Prairie Insurance, and volunteered at the Regency Manor nursing home in Floresville as a Eucharist minister.

Jane enjoyed spending time with her family wherever they lived, traveling to California and Missouri numerous times, and she also enjoyed hosting many family gatherings at the farm over the years. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, in addition to being a friend to a generation of Poth High School students.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son-in-law, Raymond Kotara.

Survivors include three daughters, Dianne Kotara Larned and husband Jack of San Antonio, Elizabeth Parker and husband David of Universal City, and Teresa Dickinson and husband Fred of Creve Coeur, Mo.; one son, Richard L. Bolf and wife Mary of Pleasanton, Calif.; her grandchildren, Kevin Kotara and wife Isabelle, Erin West and husband Greg, Christy Vinklarek and husband Scott, Monica Feldman and husband David, Matthew Dickinson, and Jonathan and Sarah Bolf; and three great-grandchildren, Megan West and Samuel and Brigid Feldman. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Schulz of New Braunfels; a sister-in-law, Lucille Bolf Hegar of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, officiated by Father Grzegorz Szewczyk, SDS.

Interment followed in the St. James Cemetery in Seguin. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Kotara, Matthew Dickinson, Jonathan Bolf, Scott Vinklarek, David Feldman, Steve Schulz, Danny Bolf, and Terry Bolf.
