The Rev. Raymond Austin Glass Sr.

The Rev. Raymond Austin Glass Sr. died Sunday in an Olympia hospital. His home was at 817 Enterprise Drive, Lacey. He was born in Oklahoma on Feb. 24, 1922, and had made his home in Lacey since 1963. He had served as pastor of Southern Baptist Churches in Oklahoma, Texas and Idaho. He moved to Port Orchard in 1961 and to Lacey in 1963 where he served the Lacey Baptist Church until 1973 when he retired because of ill health.

While in Idaho he had served on the Board of Home Missions. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was active in the Little League in Lacey.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; three sons, Raymond, Olympia, Stephen, Mill Valley, Calif., and David, Lacey; two daughters, Mrs. Phil (Cheryl) Potter, Olathe, Kan., and Mrs. Dale (Cynthia) Ellis, Olympia; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Revell, St. Elmo, Ill., and Mrs. Winifred Baldridge, Dell City, Okla.; his mother Mrs. Glenn Hamer, Choctaw, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

The family suggests any memorials be made in the form of donations to the Library Fund of the Lacey Baptist Church or to the Heart Fund. The funeral will be held in the First Baptist Church in Lacey this Tuesday, starting at 3:30 p.m., under the direction of Selene and Bros Mortuary.
