Sister M. Danetta Buser, BVM, 90, died April 5, 2011, at Marian Hall in Dubuque, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9–11 a.m., on Friday, April 8, 2011, in Marian Hall Chapel followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. Funeral liturgy will be at 1:30 p.m. Burial is in the Mount Carmel cemetery, Dubuque.
Sister M. Danetta was an elementary school educator in Chicago, Ill.; Hempstead, N.Y.; Lead, S.D.; and Kansas City, Mo. She was also superior/principal in Chicago. She served in pastoral ministry in Dubuque and Kansas City.
She was born Feb. 12, 1921, to Daniel G. and Ida Winterscheidt Buser. She entered the BVM congregation from Sacred Heart Parish, Halstead, Kan., on Feb. 2, 1942. She professed first vows on August 15, 1944, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1949.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Angela Koetting, Helen Rumpf, Cecilia and Veronica Buser; and one brother, Celestine. She is survived by two sisters: Margaret Ann Buser, CSJ; and Mary Angela Buser, BVM; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Support Fund.
