HOT SPRINGS — Joe Edward Arnold, 78, formerly of Little Rock, died in Hot Springs, on Nov. 16, 2007. Born on Aug. 28, 1929 in Nashville, Ark., to Fred Locke Arnold and Willie Belle Anderson Arnold, he was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Little Rock.
He served congregations in the former Little Rock Conference, including the Bethlehem Circuit, Buckner Circuit, Amity, Parkdale/Millers Chapel, Pine Bluff Hawley Memorial, Warren Parish, Mabelvale, Stuttgart First, Hot Springs Grand Avenue, Wesley Foundation SAU Magnolia, Emerson, Lydesdale, and Greers Chapel and as Little Rock Conference program director, before retiring in 1995.
He is survived by three children, son Joe Edward Arnold, Jr. and wife Jane of Destin, Fla.; daughters, Jeudi A. Williams and husband Bill of Lake Village, Ark., and Tena M. Arnold of Hot Springs; grandchildren William E. (Buddy) Williams and wife Mary of Pine Bluff, Ark., Joseph J. Williams and wife Marissa of Fort Walton Beach Fla., Jessica L. Arnold, Kala M. Arnold and Maxwell Seth Arnold of Destin, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; brother Fred H. Arnold and wife Jane of Pine Bluff, and a sister Mary M. Lazenby of Little Rock; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
His wife Helen Boone Arnold preceded him in death.
A visitation was held Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Little Rock 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19th, with Rev. John A. Fleming and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood, Little Rock, Ark., 72207.
