Obituary from the Macon Telegraph, August 6, 1916 edition:
Sylvester, August 5 - G. G. Ford, one of the foremost citizens of Worth County and a pioneer in its settlement and development, died here about 2 o'clock this morning from heart failure. He was president of the Sylvester Banking Company, and one of the wealthiest citizens of the county, and had represented his county in the state legislature at various times.
He is survived by a wife, and children, Mrs. George F. Sumner (Georgia A.), Mrs. Robert L. Deariso (Mary E.), Mrs. Preston B. Powell (Ida), Mrs. J. Z. Peebles (Sarah S.), and Dr. William G. Ford.
(Note's: Son, Dr. John A. Ford, had died in 1902. Also, the paper made a mistake listing Sarah's husband as "J. Z.". Should have been "W. Z.".)
