Du Quoin, Ill. -- Rose Marie Dirler, 94, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:55 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at her residence.
Rose was Manager of United Electric guest house, Kitchen Supervisor at Sacred Heart Catholic School, catered weddings. She worked with her husband in their grocery store, laundromat, furniture store, trailer court and apartments.
She was a graduate of the Murphysboro Township High School.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi.
She was born Nov. 19, 1917 at Murphysboro, Ill. the daughter of Charles and Mary (Bantel) Berger.
She married Sylvester Dirler on April 18, 1940 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Murphysboro. He passed away Jan. 26, 2008.
She is survived by a son- Howard Dirler and wife Sharon of Du Quoin, daughter- Sylvia Kemner and husband Larry of Taylorville, granddaughter- Tracey Maras and husband Charles of Dawson, grandson- Chad Dirler and wife Meghan of Du Quoin, sister- Eleanor Ann Wilson and husband Jack of Murphysboro, sister-in-law- Dorothy Berger of Du Quoin, special friends- Edd and Ruth Mazure of Du Quoin, nieces- Jill Wilson of Murphysboro, Debbie Martin and husband David of Du Quoin, Janet Eubanks and husband Ben of Du Quoin, Carol Wells of Du Quoin, nephews- Ron Bottomley and wife Karen of Morris, Brad Berger and wife Margaret of Noblesville, Ind., Will Berger and wife Betty of Port Charlotte, Fla., Henry Berger of West Palm Beach, Fla., Larry Quigley and wife Joyce of Greenville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers- Willard Berger and Howard Berger, nephew- Gary Quigley.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.
There will be no visitation.
