Aug. 3, 1976 at Kern-Kiesau Funeral Chapel, Clinton, OK, officiated by Alfred Reeves, minister of the Dill City, OK church of Christ. Interment was at Page Cemetery, south of Foss, OK.
Mr. Latimer was born Jan. 8, 1893, on the family farm near Mayetta, Jackson County, Kansas. He was the youngest of the six children of James Kirk and Sarah (McLin)(Ebright) Latimer. In 1896 the family moved to Pottawatomie County, OK and still later to Washita County, OK - finally settling on the farm at Latimer Corner, four miles south of Foss.
On Mar. 5, 1916 he was married to Pearl Rigney at the home of her parents in Orange Center, FL. They settled on the Latimer farm in 1921, where they reared their three children. Kirk Latimer was a long-time member of the church of Christ, where he served as a Bible class teacher. During WW 2 he worked at the U.S. Naval Base at Burns Flat, but also farmed the home place.
Mr. Latimer passed from this life on Aug. 1, 1976, at the Highland Park Manor Nursing Home in Clinton, OK. He is survived by his children, Mrs. Walter (Wenona) Dunn and Mrs. J. R. (Laurel) McNatt, of Foss, and R. C. (Rita), of Washington, OK, one sister, Louise Latimer, of Elk City, OK, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.
