Andrew Butler Hill passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2008.
Andrew's casket will be laid to rest near his beloved grandfather, Nolan Butler, in Oak Grove Memorial Park in Irving.
On Sept. 3, 1977, God decided in His infinite wisdom to give heaven a small break and loan earth a red-headed bundle of fire named Andrew Butler Hill for a few God minutes. All who know Andrew, got it.
Andrew's sense of humor, his shining intellect and his intense approach to life could wear even Lance Armstrong down. Andrew didn't just love life -- he was life.
Andrew had a lot to say about everything and anything. But we all agree, when Andrew talked, everyone listened. Andrew had a gift of making sense out of every confusing situation.
God called Andrew Hill's loan to earth suddenly Dec. 1, 2008, only a few short hours before he was to be well enough to begin holding court with the friends and family who loved him so deeply. Maybe God was lonely without this kind and gentle Teddy Bear of a man He loaned us 31 years ago. Or again, maybe God needed Andrew's well-thought-out analysis about what would make his beloved adopted hometown of Fort Worth the best city in the West. Whatever, we all won, just having Andrew and his incredible mind for any time at all was a great enough blessing.
Those left behind will hurt, but never forget. They include his mom, Nolanda and fiance, Ray; dad, Billy and wife, Karon; fiancee, Allison Revoli; grandmother, Francile Butler; grandfather, Bill Hill Sr.; aunts, Alice Butler, Mary Lou Blaylock and Jeanne Poorman; uncles, John Moseley, Louis Blaylock and Kevin Poorman; cousins, Andrea Blaylock, Jacob, Ellisa, Elena and Emma Poorman; and an extended family large enough to fill Texas Stadium.
