Alice Ann Michaels Savage was born July 12, 1888 in Coe Township, Rock Island County, Illinois to William and Camilla (McNabney) Michaels. She married Joseph Arthur Savage January 10, 1910 in Morrison, Illinois. He preceded her in death, November 28, 1945. Her parents and one sister, Jennie also preceded her in death.
Joe and Alice had 8 children, seven sons, and a daughter. Their children in order of birth are: John Henry, Frank Arthur, Mary Albina, Joseph William, George Pearl, Alfred Edward, Charles Everett and Kenneth L. Savage. The children all survived her along with her two brothers, George and Bryan Michaels and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Neuffer and Mrs. Belle Howard.
Alice lived most of her life in Rock Island County and lived in Port Byron for the last 24 years before her death the afternoon of March 8, 1961 in her home at Port Byron.
