Inscription: "Elijah T.,1826-1904"
Elijah son of Elijah Clapp and Harriet (Ford) of Greenbush, husband of Ann Rosina (Clapp), a cousin.
In 1880 Elijah T. Clapp purchased the Stockbridge Mills from a cousin, also his father-in-law, Thomas Clapp, who had purchased the Mills from the Stockbridge Estate in 1830. (Elijah's father, Elijah Clapp, was miller and manager of the Mills for the Stockbridge family, and later for this cousin Thomas Clapp). In 1888 Elijah Thomas Clapp inherited from his father the blacksmith shop, ice house and farmlands south of the pond in Greenbush.
As a wedding present his father built them a homestead behind the grist mill in Greenbush, both of which are still there as of 2014, no longer owned by the Clapp family.
