Who Does What, by Paul Jenkins
Edith Damewood stands in her kitchen at the Silver Nook Grill, which she and her husband, W. H. Damewood, own. She takes a shift there cooking daily --- the force of long habit, I suppose. She was a chef at Hotel Rose for more than 18 years.
I'd say off-hand that those that work with her like her mighty well, for I notice about the same girls are there that I've seen there for years.
The Damewoods have an apartment above the restaurant, but their real home is on Cavett Creek, Glide, Douglas ,Oregon. "It's a lovely log house with a huge fireplace and we have lots of water for gardens and flowers", was Mrs. Damewoods nostalgic comment.
Edith Belle married Louis Hanks Jr, March 20, 1909 in Canyonville, Douglas, Oregon .
It's not known at this time when the marriage ended , however she married William Harrison Damewood long before 1949.She is buried in a Roseburg cemetery.
