Gloe L. Anderson, 82, of Colman died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison. Gloe LaVonne was born on February 26, 1926 to Helmer and Mary (Borstad) Sedig in Bruce, SD. She was the youngest of ten children. Gloe grew up in Bruce where she received her education and graduated from Bruce High School in 1944. Following high school she moved to Sioux Falls and worked as a secretary at John Morrell Co. On November 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to Maynard Anderson in Bruce. Maynard farmed in the Chester-Colman area. He preceded her in death in June of 1985. Gloe moved into Colman in 1990 and worked at the Colman-Egan School helping to provide healthy meals to children for 8 years until she retired in 2001. Gloe moved to Brandon in 2004 and lived there until July 2005 when she moved into the Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison. Gloe was a member of Colman Lutheran Church and WELCA.
Gloe is survived by 4 children, Julie (Doug) Bowen, Chester, Lori VanLiere, Brandon, Karn Anderson, Three Forks, MT, Mark (Melodie) Anderson, Colman and 9 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Colman Lutheran Church, Colman with burial in the Colman Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm Wednesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman with a 7:00 pm prayer service.
