He enlisted on September 17, 1861 and mustered out on September 4, 1865. He fought in the Battle at Vicksburg.
His obituary states that he was a lifelong resident of Mineral Point and died at his home on Silver Street, age 78, on Monday morning Nov. 24. The funeral was held on Wed. afternoon, under the auspices of George H. Legate Post, G.A.R. and with religious services by Rev. John Birrell of the Methodist Episcopal church.

His residence was in Mineral Point, WI. He lived there with his wife Kate.
There was one son that I know of now by the name of Gilbert. They had 3 children - two died in infancy.
He died in Mineral Point and was buried in Graceland Cemetery.
