Born in Augusta, Texas to the late Willie and Beulah Curvey. He attended school in Augusta, Texas.
He married Marcell Baker, September 4, 1948 to this union four children were born.
He accepted Christ and dedicated his life to the Lord at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H.B. Sampson, Sr., until his health began to fail/ His faithful service secured him the position of Director of Evangelism.
He retired from the United States Post Office after 28 years of loyal service.
He volunteered for the United States Army. In 1950, he became interested in th Art of Writing. He studied the works of great Master Writers and Novelists and completed his own novel entitled "Daybreak" about a slaves who escapes captivity. He also published "Poems Then and Now" plus he has two novels yet to be published-"Elnora" and "A Queen's Ransom".
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe W. Curvey and Oni Bee Burnett.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years; his stepmother, Zella Mae Curvey; his children, Louis Ray, Joyce, Charles, and Sheryl: eight grand children and one great granddaughter. siblings Harry(Marie), Cullen, Preston (Charlesetta), Dorothy, Cornell, Alfonso, Mary Edward, William (Lessie)and Billy (Karen).
