Born February 20, 1926 to Pennington and Mallie Curvey. Born in Augusta,Texas and attended Glover Elementary School and Grapeland High School. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Brewington Baptist Church in Augusta.
She moved to Houston, Texas in 1944 and further her education at Franklin Beauty College.She became a Cosmetologist.
She married H.T. Lewis in 1949. To this union two boys and two girls were born.
She moved to Queens, New York and lived there 10 years and moved back to Houston. She united with Galilee Missionary Church, under the leadership of Rev. D.S. Bailey and later Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. F.N. Williams, Jr. where she remained until her deatrh.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers: Will Earnest Curvey, Sr. and Troy, Sr.; and one sister: Ella Edwards.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, her mother; four children: Henry Lewis, Jr., Worlene Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Darzett Lewis; two daughter-in-laws; Marie Lewis and Pamla Lewis; sister-in-law, Marie Curvey; seven grandchildren; five sisters; Tannie Overshown, Margaret Overshown, Mary Hickman, Ola Francis Pines, and Harriet Curvey, four brothers; Artist Curvey,Sr., Pennington Curvey Jr., Joe Louis Curvey, Sr., and Eotis Curvey, and a host of relatives
