Mineral - Mrs. Wiley J. (Mallie) Sparkman, 78, of Mineral, died Sunday in a Morton hospital.
She was born Nov. 25, 1891, in Knott County, Ky., and had been a resident of Mineral for the past 60 years. She had been a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Morton and Royal Neighbors of America in Mineral.
She is survived by her husband, at home; five sons, Elmer and Ernest Sparkman, Morton; Paul Sparkman, Tacoma; Willard Sparkman, Temecula, Calif., and Richard Sparkman, at home; two sisters, Bertie Combs, Riverside, Calif. and Hattie Hudson, Knott County, Ky.; a brother Carl Adams, Jeremiah, Ky., 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Mineral Presbyterian Church with Elder Corbett Hale and Elder Mack Stiltner officiating. Internment will follow at the Mineral Cemetery under the direction of the Brown Mortuary in Morton.
