Oldest son of John Sr. and Bess Beswick Hogan of Kenosha,Wis. Jointed FDR's Civilian Conservation Corps(CCCs)at Hales Corners Wis upon graduating from Kenosha High 1940. (now Mary D.Bradford Hi.) Joined the 30th Infantry Division (Old Hickory) in 1941. John landed on the Normandy Beach head on D Day+1. He was awarded 5 Campaign Battle Stars-Normandy,Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland & Central Europe attaining the rank of S/Sgt. He attended Bradley University,Peoria,Ill.and received a Science Masters Degree. John married Lorraine DeWulf and lived in Lockport Ill where was a the Trucking Industry in the greater Chicago area. He was Commander of the American Legion Branch of Lockport and worked with the the VA Disable Vets after retireing in the early 1980s. Lorrraine passed away in Nov.1991 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joilet, Ill. She was interred in St.Mary's Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum (Crypt 143-B) in E.Moline, Rock Island, Ill in 1991. John joined her there in August 2000. He had been fatally injured in an auto accident while returning from a visit with Bros.Jerry & Jean Hogan's family in DesMoines, Wa. John was survived by another brother, Wm.(Bill)Hogan of Kenosha, Wis. Bill passed away in 2007.
