Harold William "Red" Lippincott was born in rural Ainsworth, Brown County, Nebraska to James and Anna (Vohland) Lippincott. In 1915 the family moved to a farm east of Lyman in Scottsbluff County where he attended school. Red and Marie Sommers were wed in Mitchell, Nebraska on February 23, 1935 and the couple moved to a farm in Goshen County, Wyoming where they resided all their lives. To this union were born the following children:
Marvin Leroy Lippincott - 1939
Larry Dale Lippincott - 1942
Karen Ann Lippincott - 1943
Rosemary Elaine Lippincott - 1944
He served on the Board of Directors of the North Platte Valley Soil Conservation District for over 30 years. He was a member of the Goshen County Farm Bureau where he served as President and was a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent for over 15 years. He belonged to the Table Mountain Community Club; the Huntley Men's Club, and the Lyman Senior Center. Red spent most of his life farming, feeding cattle and raising and feeding sheep. His proudest accomplishment was planting and nurturing the beautiful tress on his farm. He is survived by his wife, Marie, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Betty Lippincott, daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Bob Gegner, and Rosemary and Dan Delosh; a daughter-in-law Linda Lippincott; a sister-in-law Nancy Lippincott; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. "Red" was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marvin Lippincott; brothers H. R. Lippincott and J. L. Lippincott; sister Velma Shaw; and an infant sister, Altha.

The following was composed by a granddaughter, Aimee Mehrens.

He shuffles along slowly, moving toward the church;
He climbs ever so slowly up the carpeted stairs;
He moves up the aisle, stopping to greet his friends;
He edges into the pew, next to his wife;
He fumbles with his hymn book, his program, his bread and wine;
He mumbles a greeting to the minister; he can't speak any louder;
He climbs down the stairs, trying hard not to fall;
He shuffles along the pavement, heading toward the car;
He can't drive, nor can his wife.
A family member drives them;
He changes into his old shirt and overalls once he gets home;
He eats the lunch his wife prepares, no matter what it might be;
He is shuffling towards the door; he is going to go outside;
He goes to check on the orphan lambs,
He wants to make sure they're okay;
He searches in the shed until he finds a hoe;
He has to weed the garden; he needs to work the soil;
He goes into the house and munches on his supper;
He sits and stares off into space, who knows what he is thinking about;
He soon goes to bed, although it is an early hour;
He is a quiet, gentle caring man,
He is an important person in my life,
He is my great-grandpa.
