Gale R. Jensen, 50, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, died Monday July 7, 1997 at his home. Mr. Jensen was born on October 2, 1946 at Central City, Nebraska to Raymond and Anita (Rodysill) Jensen. He attended the Central City public schools and graduated from Central City High School in 1965. He received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Wayne State College. He married Linda Cech on August 5, 1972 at Clarkson. They lived in Omaha where he worked for Peate, Marwick and Mitchell; in Denison, Iowa where he worked for Clark Limestone Co.; and Eagle Grove, Iowa where he was comptroller for the Boone Valley Coop. He moved to Grand Island in 1985 and worked for Bossleman Inc. They moved back to Eagle Grove in 1986 and he worked for Iowa Testing Labs.
He was active as a Little League coach, served on the Board of Directors of Eagle Grove Country Club and was a member of the University of Colorado Golden Buffalo Scholarship Fund. He was a founding member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity at Wayne State College, where he served as treasurer. He was member of AICPA, the Iowa and Nebraska State Societies of Public Accountants and served as chairman of the Thursday night bowling league. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Greg Jensen of Boulder, Colorado, and Brett Jensen of Eagle Grove, Iowa; a daughter, Sheila Jensen of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and a brother, Roger Jensen of Grand Island, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. David Wright officiated. Burial was in Calvalry Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
