Charlotte Cole : Obituary

Charlotte Cole was just three years old when she lost her long battle with a catalogue of illnesses, finally dying as a result of liver failure and septicaemia on 22 March, 2009.

She died peacefully at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre in the arms of her mum Rebecca Cole.
Ms Cole, from Lincoln, paid tribute to her daughter, who bravely fought on despite intensive and painful treatments.

"She was a very mischievous girl with lots of spirit and always had a smile on her face even when she was really poorly," she said.

Despite being painfully poorly, little Charlotte did not lose her love for mischief and chatter things her family will always remember her for.

She first had tests in summer 2007 after her mother noticed she was not walking and talking properly.

They revealed she had cerebral palsy. But in a second blow a tumour had been detected on the toddler's adrenal gland.

Her mum said: "She was still happy, though. She was painting and playing.

"She was a very mischievous girl with lots of spirit and always had a smile on her face even when she was really poorly.

"She loved play-doh and loved throwing it at you, she would always go against the grain.

"When she was in hospital, she used to throw something on the floor and wait until someone bent down to pick it up and then she'd throw something at their head. She was comical."
