Sophia Uechithausen was born Sept. 22, 1845 in Braunschweig, Niedersachsen, Germany.
Sophia Uechithausen and Carl Hasper came to America to New York, Nov. 4, 1867.
Six days later Nov. 10, 1867 they were married at the First German Presbyterian Church in New York.
They moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin were Carl owned his business making furniture. They had six children. Their first born son died at birth another son died at age 9 and two daughters at age 20.
Carl died in 1880 and Sophia moved to Denver, Colorado to be close to her daughter and her family.
Sophia died 1907 in Denver, Colorado and her ashes where taken back to Wisconsin to be buried in the family plot with her husband and children.
Burial ~ 30 April 1907
The body of Mrs. Sophia Hasper, a former Manitowoc resident who
died in Denver, Col. was brought here today and the funeral will
be held tomorrow afternoon from the home of Mrs. W. Vits, Fifteenth
street. Mrs. Hasper's family left here ten years ago to locate in
the West, and decedent is well remembered.

The body of Mrs. Sophia Hasper, a former resident of Manitowoc,
was brought here from Denver, Colorado, and buried Tuesday.
