Thomas Jefferson Bottoms, 86, of Athens Rt. 3, passed away at his late residence Wednesday, November 12, at 5:45 p.m. Last rites will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock by Rev. Berry Copeland at the residence. Interment will be in Bottoms Cemetery, McConnell-Service directing.
Mr. Bottoms is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Butler, Woodville, Ala., and Mollie Ruth Bottoms, Peabody College, Nashville; five sons, A. T., Trenton, Ala., R. R., Louisville, Ky., E. H., Adams Center, N.Y., Gilbert, Bellingham, Washington, and B. H., Athens Rt. 3.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Crouch, Lee Phillips, Elmer Pressnell, J. C. McClung, Harvey Coffman and Howard Phillips. Thomas Jefferson Bottoms - son of James Madison Bottoms and Eliza McElroy.
Mr. Bottoms was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Talula Gilbert Bottoms, who passed away on March 9, 1946. They were married February 21, 1883 in Fayette Co, Georgia.
