Mrs. Patrick H. Cain, 58, of R. 2, Elkhart Lake, died at 5 a.m. today at St. Nicholas Hospital following a brief illness. She had been hospitalized since Monday. The former Martha Farrell, she was born July 29, 1896, at Kaukauna, a daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Anna Farrell. Following the death of her mother, she came to live with a sister, Mrs. Thomas Foster, at Random Lake, when 14. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1914, following which she attended Oshkosh State Teachers College later teaching rural schools in Sheboygan County until her marriage.
She was married to Mr. Cain Nov. 18, 1922, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Random Lake. Following marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Russell, continuing to reside there ever since. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of the St. Ann Catholic Church at St. Anna.
Surviving are her husband; four sons, two daughters, five grandchildren; three brothers, James Farrell of Anaconda, Mont., John of St. Catherine, Canada, and William of Milwaukee; and two sisters, Mrs. George McCarthy and Mrs. James McCarthy of Milwaukee.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, and at 10 o'clock at the St. Anna Catholic Church. The Rev. John Haen, pastor, will be celebrant of the requiem mass
