Pearl L. James, 67, a former resident of Salmon, died 19 November 1999 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born 20 August 1932 in Idaho Falls to Angus and Pearl Van Norstran Lund. Her family moved from Idaho Falls to Salmon in 1947, and she attended schools in Salmon. Pearl married John Ernst and the couple had one child, John Wade Ernst. They were later divorced. She married Frank James in Salmon and they had a daughter, Teresa Lee James. Pearl worked for many years as a waitress and cook for the US Forest Service and in several restaurants in Salmon. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church. She was also a member of the American War Mothers. She enjoyed guitar, fishing, hunting, sewing, cooking, Bible study and was a rock hound. Pearl had many good friends in Salmon, was a loving mother and a caring sister to her family. Survivors include her two children, Teresa James of Houston, Texas, and John Wade Ernst of New Jersey; a brother, Angus Lund of Blackfoot. Funeral services were held 24 November at Jones & Casey Funeral Home. Burial was in the Salmon Cemetery.
