Marion W. Cline was born May 29,1906, to Alma and Marion O. Woollen. She lived with her parents, four sisters and three brothers, at Dayton, Tennessee.
On June 22, 1936. in Cleveland, Tennessee, she married Ralph E. Cline whom she had met while attending Bryant University.
Twins James Phillip and John Mark, when only a few months old, were adopted by Marion and Ralph. James lives in California and John in Chattanooga.
Marion received her education at Tennessee Tech University and the University of Tennessee. She taught school for forty-seven years. For several years she was librarian for Anderson County High School. After retirement she did substitute work for Sevier County Schools.
Besides being a wife, mother, teacher. Marion helped in the different churches Ralph served. For almost fifty years they served together as a team, with her music complementing Ralph's preaching. Their love, faith and faithfulness helped many people know God and many young people to serve God. Pastoral appointments were Graysville for seven years, Jacksboro for six years, Briceville for thirteen years and Pittman Center Circuit for twenty-four years. Marion was a beautiful helpmate.
In November 1982 Marion was diagnosed as having a brain tumor. Surgery was performed in December and the family was told she had only a short time to live. Ralph chose lo bring her home and care for her. Unable to care for herself, she required constant care. Love and care, beyond belief, were given night and day by Ralph. Marion lived until May 20. 1986 when she quietly passed away.
Marion leaves a legacy of love and service expressed through her family, the public school and the church. She was a member of Anderson County retired teachers. She was a member of the Delu Kappa Gamma and the United Methodist Women groups for many years.
Her funeral was conducted by Reverends Albert Bowles, Hoyt Shadden and Robert Gilbert with music by Harold Harris, on May 22 ai Rawlings Chapel in Sevierville. Interment, Buttram Cemetery in Dayton, Tennessee, with Rev. Raymond Spell. Jr. conducting the service, Ralph E. Cline E.A. Eldridge

Marion Christine Woollen Cline taught school for more than 47 years, commencing at Dayton City School, in Dayton, TN. Marion received her education at Rhea Central High School, Tennessee Tech, and University of Tennessee. She received a degree in Library Science, later serving as Librarian for Anderson County, TN High School.

Marion was very active in the churches and community where her husband, Rev. Ralph E. Cline served as a Methodist minister.
