Former Business Man Here Dies
Forest Caleb Ervay, 63, died on January 3 of a heart attack in his car in the yard at his home in St. Louis. He was on his way to the restaurant which he had opened New Year's Day.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday by Rev. Phillip Carpenter in the First Methodist church of which Mr. Ervay was a member. Masonic burial rites were conducted in Ridgelawn cemetery, Breckenridge.
Mr. Ervay was born on February 18, 1884, on a farm near Charlotte. He was a son of Orean L. and Mary E. Ervay. He moved to Beaverton in 1919 and in that year married Miss Mary J. Fruchey of Beaverton. Mr. Ervay operated a bakery and restaurant in Beaverton and Gladwin and in Marion and Breckenridge before moving to St. Louis. He was a member of the Breckenridge Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ruth J. Halstead of Breckenridge; a son, Buddy Charles at home; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Blodgett of Charlotte, Mrs. George Roat of Mulliken and Mrs. A. Ottney of Canada; two brothers, Alger and Russell Ervay of Atlanta, Georgia; also two grandchildren, Lee Michael and Becki Sue Halstead.
