Obituary for David Runyon Bahrenburg David Runyon Bahrenburg, now alive in the presence of Jesus Christ, left the limitations of earthly life on October 18, 2007, at the age of 50. Born December 6, 1956, in Greensburg, PA, to Frederic Robert and Nancy (Runyon) Bahrenburg, David is a man who devoted his life to honoring God, family and community above himself. David was graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Forestry Products. Married February 4, 1984, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Wendy Johns, he was blessed with a loving family that includes sons Daniel, of Silverdale, WA; Nathan and his wife Amber, of Colorado Springs, CO; and daughter Virginia (Ginny) Lynn of Allen, TX. Also surviving are his parents, brothers Jeffrey and wife Lucille of Reinholds, PA, and Fred and wife Gaynelle of Austin, TX; and sister Pamela Meerdink and husband Denis, of Stockton, CA. His memory is fresh in the minds of a great host of extended family and friends. David was CEO of Bridgepoint Communications, Inc.; a member of Rotary International for nine years in Duncanville and currently in Allen, TX, and an active member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen, where he had become a leader in the Men's Ministry. He served as Chairman of the Board of Fruit Bearing Tree Ministries, touching the lives of many incarcerated youth and their families. Himself an Eagle Scout, David served many years in Boy Scout leadership. He saw both sons, Daniel and Nathan, reach the rank of Eagle Scouts. A dedicated hunter, David was at home in the wild, and was active in The Texas Youth Hunting Program. All of his children have learned from him and have come to share his passion and joy in the outdoors. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00. A celebration honoring David's love and service for his God will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen, TX, with Senior Pastor Dr. John Mark Caton officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church Men's Ministry, 1015 SH 121, Allen, TX 75013.
