Isaac Perry Tipton (who has 2 memorials!), and Ann [Powell] Tipton
Hester went by the name "Nettie" on the 1910, 1920 & 1930 censuses. I couldn't find one for 1900. She married Dr.Caleb Emmert during the early 1880's and Eva was born in 1884, Clyde was born in 1893. On the 1910 census they stated they'd been married 34 yrs., which means they would have married in 1874, but in 1880, I found Dr. Emmert living w/Dr. James Cameron and his family in Elizabethton, probably establishing his own practice or having a joint practice while he was unmarried. His was the last name on the page; I didn't find Hester or Nettie Emmert in 1880, really wish I could've found that 1900 census! Clyde always lived with his mother, until she passed. He was still in college at age 27 in 1920. In 1930, after Eva had died, they'd moved to Manhattan, N.Y. to live and Clyde was a piano teacher. William Mims, b.1910, also from TN., was a boarder w/Clyde, working as a secretary for the steel industry, thru at least 1940. They may have been companions until they passed later in life. So, Hester aka "Nettie" died while living in New York, in Lynbrook, Nassau Co., N.Y., per family records. Her remains were ret. to TN for burial, as were Clyde's when he died in 1979.
