John arrived in Galveston from Germany in 1903. 1905 finds him in Dallas TX. working as a gardener, living with O. Lang, a florist. He is awaiting the arrival of his wife Mary from Germany.
Mary boarded the S.S. Hanover on Jan. 21, 1905 and arrived in Galveston on Feb.15, 1905. The 1910 census finds them living in San Francisco. They had 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.
Please note that Mary is a GOLDSTAR MOTHER. Her son, Joseph John died during WWI and is buried in the Nat. Cemetery in the San Francisco Presidio.
