Mr. Postell Reid Cliett, 93, of 2117 Harold Road, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Starling-Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. John Courson officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Cliett, a native of Columbia County, had retired as a floor refinisher for P.R. Cliett Floor Finishing. He was a member of the WEDD Masonic Lodge 162. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of Knights of The Temple. He was a charter member of the First Southern Methodist Church of Augusta, where he taught the Brotherhood Sunday school class. He was also a member of the Board of Stewards.
The family said, "He was a good husband, father and grandfather."
Survivors include his wife, Thelma McLaughlin Cliett; two sons, Ronald Reid Cliett and Delbert N. Cliett, both of Augusta; a daughter, Chloris C. McGayhee, Augusta; two stepdaughters, Betty Dixon, Keysville, and Dorothy Columbro; and eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Memorials may be made to The Boys Farm, P.O. Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
