While attending the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Robert Williams on the State road last Thursday evening, C Duane Davenport of this town was sudddenly stricken with apoplexy, and remained in an unconscious condition for several hours. Dr. F. A Crane was summoned and did all that could be done for the sufferer. He lingered in a partially unconscious state until about noon yesterday when he breathed, his last.
Mr Davenport leaves a brother, Mr. Ira Davenport of Boston, Mass, and a sister, Mrs Stephen Brigham of this village to mourn his death. He left no children aud his wife died several years ago. Funeral services will held from his late residence at twelve o'clock .
