Arland was born in Crockett, Texas, and graduated from Crockett High School with honors in mathematics. He was an all-district football team member. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and trained at Randolph Field in Texas. First Master Sergeant Allbright served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He served with the 28th Fighter Squadron, 43rd Fighter Squadron, and the 29th Bomber Squadron. He was assigned to France Field, the Galapagos Archipelago, and Panama Headquarters at Quarry Heights. During his World War II service, he earned the Overseas Campaign Medal with two service bars, Rifle Expert Marksman, American Defense Service Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
In 1942, he married Faye Elizabeth Martin while stationed at Ellington Field, Houston. Arland and Faye were members of Mexia's First United Methodists Church. The were charter members of the Mexia Country Club and active in many civic organizations and community events. Arland was the owner of Mexia Auto Supply for over 45 years. He was a member of the Mexia Lions Club, Mexia Jaycees, a 32nd degree Mason, active in his Sunday School class, and chairman of the Building Committee for the church's present sanctuary. Quail hunting, fishing and golf were important hobbies, but he enjoyed even more, the companionship of the friends who participated in these same hobbies with him.
Survivors include sons, Rodney and Drew Allbright; grandchildren, Greg Allbright, of Dallas, and twin granddaughters, Alyssa Ryan and Lara Kathleen Allbright, of Alvin, Texas.
