Though Ernest was born in Las Cruces,his
family moved to Corpus Christi,TX,where he
lived most of his life.He had nine sisters and
four brothers.Ernest graduated from Roy Miller
Ernest enlisted in the Marines 27 April 1960,at
the San Antonio Recruiting Office.He enlisted
again 26 August 1965,while he was stationed
at Camp Pendleton,CA.
Arriving in Vietnam Ernest was assigned as the
Platoon Sgt with the Weapons Platoon,Hotel
Company,2nd Battalion,5th Marine Regiment,
1st Marine Division,prior to being assigned to
Alpha Company,1st Battalion,5th Marine
Regiment,1st Marine Division.
While participating in Operation Colorado,Alpha
Company engaged hostile forces in the vicinity
of Cam Khe(1)and(2),Toute 586,8 kilometers
west of Tam Ky.Ernest died of a gunshot
wound to the body from hostile rifle fire.
Ernest was married and served his country for
6 years,3 months and 14 days.KIA#5,898.
Tour of duty date unknown.
He was 25 years and 5 days old.

his 3 sons;Orlando,Michael Paul and Ernest
Amador Jr of 753 Post Ave,Las Cruces,NM.
His parents;Mr & Mrs Guillermo Amador,his sisters;Estella,Irene,Linda,Patricia,Edna,Ruth
Esther,and his brothers;Guadulupe,Paul and
Valentine all of 753 Post Rd,Corpus Christi,TX.
Sisters;Mrs Juan Gonzales and Teresita Saenz
of Corpus Christi,TX and Alice Alvarado of El
His brother;Alfredo B Amador with the Navy on
board the USS Chesterfield LST 551 at Saigon,
