Bruce was born and raised in Detroit,MI.He
enlisted in the Marines 31 July 1963,at the
Detroit Recruiting Office.
"Bruce was a kind and gentle person.He liked
to tell jokes and have fun.I went to school
with Bruce and I heard about his death while
I was in the service.Life is never the same
when someone like Bruce dies,and yet life
means so much more because of fine young
men like him.Fighting for freedom is never in
vain.Your friend always."
Bruce arrived in Vietnam and was assigned to the Weapons Platoon,Echo Company,2nd Battalion,3rd Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
Bruce died as a result of a gunshot wound to
the head from enemy rifle fire during combat, while participating in Operation Double Eagle.
Bruce was single and served his country for 2 years,6 months and 7 days.KIA#2,733.
Bruce was 21 years,1 month and 10 days old.
Survived by his mother;Mildred J Barth,11310 Warwick, Detroit,MI.
Father;Walter C Barth,deceased at the time.
