|Birth: ||Nov. 24, 1894|
|Death: ||Apr. 12, 1960|
Eldest child of Thomas Duff and Caroline Austin, he became a draftsman and architect getting started in his father's building business.
He then became an architect at the James D. Morrisey construction company and became friend of owner James D. Morrisey. He designed Mr. Morrisey's private home, and he also did a lot of the planning work on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, of which the Morrisey Company had a construction contract. When the Turnpike was completed in the early 1950's he took his family on a trip from one end to the other.
He moved to various homes in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties, but spent 12 years living in Ocean City New Jersey.
Many people thought he looked like Harry S Truman in his later years.
At the end of his life he had glaucoma leaving him blind. He quickly learned braille, and Mr. Morrisey kept him on staff as an architect in spite of his blindness.
He died at the home of his daughter Claire Duff Taylor in Roslyn , Pa.
He had four children - Earl Jr., Martin, Claire, Caroline, and Lois.
Officiating at his funeral was a nephew Henry F. Kulp of Altoona , Pa.
