Emily Almeda Howard was the daughter of Hardy Howard and his wife Elizabeth Camp. She and her husband, Hugh M. Niblack, were named in her father's will, filed 1859 in Jackson County, Georgia. Hugh was the son of some other early settlers of the county, Thomas Niblack and his wife Margaret Montgomery. Emily Howard married Hugh M. Niblock in 1839 while Emily's brother Hartsford married Louisa Caroline Niblack, Hugh's sister, in 1845.
Hugh M. and Emily A. Niblack settled in Jackson County, where they had a farm and raised a large family. Their children were Elizabeth T. P., Thomas Howard, Louisa Caroline, Margaret Amanda, Harvy Ann, Octavia E., Zachariah T., Hugh Randolph, Virgil Augustus, Booth, Sarah Ada, and Cornelia Amelia Niblack.
