CARLETON George E. Loving husband for 56 years of Doris Elaine Carleton. Proud and devoted father of Brian J. Carleton and Steven C. Carleton. Loving father in law of Marjorie R. Carleton and loving and devoted grandfather of Rachel Elizabeth and Julia Rose Carleton. Monday, July 23, 2007 in his 80th year. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial services at St. Paul Methodist Church, 8221 Miami Avenue, on July 28th, 2007 at 11 A.M. Visitation to follow. George was a World War II veteran serving from 1944-1946. He was employed by The Procter & Gamble Co. July 14, 1952, in their sales office in Kansas City, Mo. He was transferred to New Orleans, LA, in 1954. In 1958 he was moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and for the next thirty years he worked in administration, advertising, and marketing as a member of the General Advertising Dept. He retired April 15, 1989. He was involved in civic and business affairs both local and national. He was a board member of the Community Chest, Progams and Allocations Division Chairman, United Way of Greater Cincinnati; Co-founder of New Life Youth Services. A member of the boards of trustees of The Mental Health Association, Lighthouse Runaway Shelter, Talbert House, New Life Youth Services, American National Metric Council and the National Council of Weights and Measures. He performed volunteer services for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind, Radio Reading Services, Citizens for Better Schools, and The Urban League. He was also involved in recording books for the reading impaired.
