Veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Command Pilot with over 4200 flight hours. Recipient of the Silver Star and Distinguished Flying Cross. First Army Air Corps pilot to sink a German u-boat off the Atlantic Coast in early 1942. Preceded in death by his wives, Nola Mae in 1976 and Jettie Mae in 2000. Extracted from obituary in the San Antonio Express News, May 1, 2005; and the Nationwide Gravelocator Site.
