NEW PALTZ: Miriam S. Carroll of New Paltz, a homemaker and a 41-year resident of the area, died Aug. 10, at the Kingston Hospital, Kingston. She was 71. The daughter of Abraham and Rebecca Sucofsky Smith, she was born Feb. 16, 1923, in New York City. She was the widow of Harry Carroll. Survivors include one daughter, Arlene Carroll of Rochester; one son, Michael of New Paltz; one sister Lillian Kaplan of California; one brother, Julius Smith of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
