2 arrested following Walla Walla drive-by shooting

WALLA WALLA -- Two men were arrested Tuesday afternoon after shots were fired from their car.

Officers and deputies from the Walla Walla police and Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office were called to the east end of Walla Walla after someone reported hearing shots fired near Isaacs and Ash streets, said a news release.

Deputies found a 2002 Dodge Neon leaving the area and followed it, according to the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin. A deputy then saw someone in the car fire a gun near Eighth and Moore streets.

Authorities pulled the car over and arrested Frank P. Tamayo, 27, and Mario R. Deleon, 29.

Tamayo was booked into jail on suspicion of two counts of drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a gun. Deleon was arrested on outstanding warrants.

No injuries were reported. Detectives said they found a gun in the car.
