NBC - 7 KTVB (Boise, ID) - Thursday, July 18, 2013

IDAHO COUNTY -- The 67-year-old Meridian woman injured after a crash that killed her husband earlier this week has died.

Prudence Barnes was riding in a pickup with her husband, 68-year-old Richard Barnes, on Monday, when the pickup hit a semi truck on Highway 95 just south of Grangeville.

Idaho State Police say Barnes drove his pickup off the road after trying to pass a semitrailer. According to reports, Barnes was towing a camp trailer while he tried to pass the semi, but came back into the lane too soon and was hit by the driver of the truck.

Richard Barnes died at the scene of the crash, and Prudence was flown to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where she died earlier today.

The semi driver was not hurt.
