DECATUR -- Ray H. Hickenbottom, 85, of Decatur, died 1 a.m. Friday (Jan. 5, 1996) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Muddy Point Cemetery. Memorials: Long Creek United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hickenbottom was born Jan. 12, 1910, in Horton County, Texas, the son of Hugh and Della Near Hickenbottom. He retired in 1972 from Archer Daniels Midland Co. after 34 years of service. He was a member of Long Creek United Methodist Church. He married Atha Pearl Mills in Pana on Dec. 19, 1960.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Harold and wife Ginny and Lowell and wife Norma, all of Decatur; daughters, Betty Faulkner and husband Ernie of Marion; Alice Fisher of Mount Zion; stepson, Jerry Mills and wife Edi of Assumption; brothers, Tom and Cleone ``Bud'' and wife Bernadine, both of Charleston; Joe and wife Maureen of Bethany; Isaac ``Ike'' and wife Mary, Arthur and Donald and wife Ruth, all of Charleston; sisters, Edna Hardy of Charleston; Ruth Skrock and husband Marcell of Wauwatosa, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Myrtle Dixon in 1959, three brothers, one sister, one son, Earl Fay and two greatgrandchildren.
