Under the heading -- Millsap Notes & Quotes

We are sorry to relate the death of our oldest resident, Uncle Billy Arterburn, aged 97 years, whom death claimed early Saturday morning after a two weeks illness with pneumonia. He was a native of Tennessee, where he was left an orphan when young. He later moved to Dallas county, Texas, where he grew to manhood, and married Miss Rebecca Williams. From there they moved to Palo Pinto county, then to Parker county in 1882, where he has resided since. He was a very active old man even in his old age and had accumulated quite a lot of farm property. He was a faithful member of the Baptist church having been a member forty-eight years, and leaves his loved ones the consolation that he was ready and willing to go. He was father of thirteen children. His wife died five years ago. Four children are dead and nine living, six sons and three daughters, as follows: J. T. Arterburn, of Louisiana; John T., of Grapevine, Texas; W. H., of Brazos; C. S., I. M. and M.D. Arterburn of the Millsap community; Mrs. M. A. Knox, of Brazos; Mrs. J. F. Steakly, of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Maude Wood, of Abilene, and one hundred and eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Revs. C. H. Ray and T. W. C. Nealy of Weatherford at the family residence. Interment was in the Millsap cemtery, his sons acting as pallbearers, carring the casket from the residence to the cemetery. We extend our love and sympathy to the breaved ones.
