Death of Ole Anderson
Old and Respected Citizen of Saw­yer
Passes Away At Age of

Ole Anderson died February 15, at 9:30 p.m., at the home of his son Charles in Sawyer. The deceased was born June 27, 1843 at Hole, Stavanger, Norway. He was engaged in farming, when at the age of 23 he was united in marriage to Mary Sather of Stavanger, Norway.

In May 1871 he immigrated to this country with his wife and two sons, Andrew H., and Fred L., his sister, Mrs. Tom Olson, and a num­ber of relatives, on the sailship "Nordens Droneng." After spending three months on the ocean they landed at Quebec. From there they went by train to Chicago where they stayed for a few days to rest. From there they proceeded to Deerfield, Wisconsin, where they stayed for one year. They returned to Chicago where they resided for seven years. In the year 1879 they moved to Door county, where they settled on farm in the town of Sturgeon Bay. He engaged, in farming until two years ago, when he sold his farm to his son Charles W. In May 1904 his wife died and in the following fall he visited his birthplace, where he stayed for six months.

The union was blessed with eight children, three have died in infancy and five survive. They are: Andrew H., Fred L., Mrs. Peter Trodahl, Charles W., and Mrs. Louis Osmundson, all of Sawyer. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, namely, Louis and Peter Anderson and Mrs. Tom Olson of Sawyer and Mrs. Bert Voagen of Norway; also twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at Mount Olive, Saturday afternoon, Rev. Theo. Austad officiating.
