Harry Lee Franklin Adcock, 80, of Madison Heights, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Alice Mandy Tolley Adcock.
Born January 5, 1930 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late Clyde Franklin Adcock and the late Nettie Stinson Adcock and was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Flint and a host of other siblings. Mr. Adcock was a retired supervisor with Allen -Morrison Sign Company and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Mr. Adcock was an avid gardener who had won numerous awards for his vegetables. He loved to share his vegetables with family and friends.
Mr. Adcock is survived by five children, Robert Adcock (Janice), Jody Adcock (Judy), Buck Adcock, Harry "Curley" Adcock (Kim), and Becky Hall (Jake Houser) and one sister, Lucille Fulcher, all of Madison Heights.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Diane Loving, Tammy Ley,
Patricia Gail Wiggington, Travis Adcock, Justin Williams, Kaleb Adcock, and Karson Adcock; several great-grandchildren and two special friends, Dawn Schmitz and Teresa McCrickard.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Charles Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2010 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
